I'm very sure no one was expecting a log on my life during the festivities. After all, I did SMS every single person on my phonebook as sincerely as "Merry X'mas" would seem over a text message. So a post would deem a very sad virtual greeting.
The eve was spent with Amanda and Khairul, we had dinner at the BBQ Chicken place at DownTown East before checking out new games like Tatsunoko VS Capcom and watching Ip Man(my favourite movie of December). Rain was heavy but we managed to get to shelter with minimal drenching. Crazy weather. However, what's crazier than the weather was Donnie Yen's punching speed. Khairul and I tried the moves after the film, we looked ridiculous. Still, there are only two words fer Ip Man: FUCKING AWESOME.
Christmas and Boxing Day parties were hosted by Kev and Greg respectively. If I know anything, it's that gatherings like that haven't changed a bit. A table with every kind of meat and various alcohols over conversations about games and old school stories or just making fun of each other. Maybe it was the food or the sitting but I got pretty drained by the time the clock struck 2. All in all, everyone had their share of laughs, so I guess it's like how every Christmas special on any TV show would conclude before the credits roll, except that it was humid and there were no jingling bells.
PS: Wow, when I type it down, it doesn't seem like a lot happened. Maybe it's because I'm too lazy to journalise the scorching Tuesday I went down to Ericsson Pet Farm with Juvena, her little sis and my girlfriend to purchase a pair of hamsters, followed by a night of Mario Kart DS multiplayer. And school starts on Monday. WTF right? At least the class has been moved to the Dhoby Ghaut campus. That's gonna be much more lenient on my EZ-Link card.

unhealthy in a good way
Besides catching The Day The Earth Stood Still, the entire last week was generally me on the road to recovery from internal bleeding due to what I can assume is overwhelming gastric fluids melting my stomach. I'm better now. My diet's better now. The back still hurts a little bit but it's also getting better. Hopefully, I can head back to the gym before the end of next week.
Spent the days at home contemplating my educational route. I had to have a professional perspective so I headed down to the campus to have the programme consultant help me with his knowledge on what's in store. I personally felt that my trip down to school was to have someone convince me on why I should go fer the class I'm eyeing fer. I was already leaning towards one side of the fence to begin with. So it's been decided that I stick to Information Technology, rather then branching out to the integrated skills of Business Computing or a new thing like Digital Multimedia. I realistically deducted that a double major would be more promising than an honour's degree, with something vast to fall back on instead of a high-status field of close-ranged expertise. In the end, a degree is still a degree. So yup.
Now that I've got the academic aspect settled... The Arena. Even with a bleeding stomach, I had the mood to go fer a party. The fact being that I'd not been there before and not clubbing in months made the night slightly more exhilirating. As exhilirating as tequila shots and martell mixes can take you.

10 seconds short of a silver
Back again in the usual clothes. Had been suffering from a serious case of indigestion fer the past 3 days. Fortunately, the illness occured the night after I passed my IPPT. I'm still unsure of the cause being abdomenal cramps from living a long time without practicing on my sit-ups or I had eaten something bad at one of the camp's messes. There was a specific point earlier in the week when the rest of the body except the stomach area ached a real deal and it surprisingly felt better. The pain in my tummy just was killing me and I haven't been sleeping well at night.
The medicine either isn't working or is reacting much slower than the acid melting the layers of muscle within my throat. Much like the medics who made me wait an incredibly long period of time fer my prescription. They seemed to be more interested in figuring out how lightsticks work than treat their last patient of the day.
So far, I feel less uncomfortable while trying the fight-fire-with-fire approach, i.e., to stuff myself with tidbits fer breakfast and I think the food is finally going down past the ribcage. I'll be grateful fer that, tasting vomit isn't exactly the best thing in the world.
PS: I bumped into Arthur after shopping at the Reservist Souvenir Shop, otherwise known as the E-Mart. He's still a trainee, in envy that I can enter offices at my will. And felt kinda uncomfortable when he was chatting with me like I'm an active sergeant. Lol~

will they gimme the new uniform?
A mix of Brand's to do my best and Mentos to make me fresh over the past 2 weeks has allowed me to unlock that spare energy to tolerate stress levels up to today. At last, the last paper fer my Diploma in Infocommunications Technology has ended. It wasn't exactly a tough paper to finish off but the answers were sure as hell darn long(could just be me, was the third last to leave the room). In this case, I'm sure the quality is in the quantity. Now that I can have a breather, it still feels weird that I'm loafing around empty-handed. Part of my heart is telling me that I've yet to cover another textbook or write some notes. But on the whole, I feel like the polar opposite of that green monster at the end of every Just For Laughs episode.
The entire gang sat down fer milkshake at Billy Bombers(saw Jill and SMSed her but I didn't get a reply, tsk...) at The Cathay, which is just behind the Dhoby Ghaut campus. I, of course, had to be special and ordered a bowl of nachos mixed with salsa, cheese, chicken cubes and jalapeño slices. Just typing it out is enough to make my mouth water again. So anyway we followed up with pool at Paradiz Centre where many technical faults took place. I didn't really wanna start showing off my skillz-dat-killz from the moment the table opened so I ran an errand of exchanging a defective USB LED/fan fer my girlfriend at Sunshine Plaza with Egg(TeckSeng, but Egg sounds more welcoming and it's easier to type) as company. I don't exactly remember the name of the shop but they damn right have no knowledge of doing business. There was no receipt fer me. They had no contacts with other branches to check stock. And okay, I know they are girls but they weren't ballsy at all. I was quite annoyed by the fact that they told me I had the last piece and I had to switch it with some other useless piece of shit in that junkyard. After much consideration about topping up the charge and the degree of the product usage, I managed to conjure a 5-minute case study in my brain and conclude to buy the Hello Kitty standing fan which is also operational via batteries. The piece also happened to be the last one in stock and I surprised myself with this loud tone when I questioned them if everything in the store was the last of each. It just occured to me that I didn't enquire if I could charge batteries while plugging it into the USB port. Fuck it. Novelty shops are fun but just fucked. Maybe it's like how you can go to the zoo but you can't keep yer own white tiger.
Late night movie of the week: Quarantine. I had secretly anticipated this flick fer a while, knowing that it had that video-camera concept going on. If you're not so easily nauseated or especially faint-hearted, you can bother to watch this film, though you might already predict the ending before the film starts. Still, it's one freaky movie to keep you on the edge of the edge of the edge of yer seat. You might retain a funny feeling that something is gonna suddenly jump at you from behind to rip yer neck or cheek off.
PS: I just found out that the advanced diploma route has specialized paths as well. Guess I'll have to make another choice after enquiring with the noob coordinator. Fer now, the next three days will be spent preparing fer my four-day reservist camp.

lagging
Aftermath of a hardcore study night almost feels like what one would, following a crazy party.
Except that I didn't have my contact lenses still on.
Except that the butterflies in my stomach were not from vodka or bourbon.
Except that I had no recollection of a sexually tensed occurance with a hot chick.
Except that my ears are working fine.
Except that my consumables were not released orally.
Except that my hair didn't have wax.
Except that I wasn't wearing a denim jacket in bed.
And except that I didn't receive any morning calls starting with, "YO!", "HAHA." or "EHHH...".
PS: The Database Management paper today sucked ass. And I totally feel bad. Not because I think it's such a difficult examination[I seriously did mug my ass off(okay, it didn't come off)]. I felt bad because I didn't feel bad about knowing I did not do well. I suppose the sorrow had already been passed around and shared by the entire hall. The faces with only one look: hopeless. The grade fer this module now rests in our assignment results, class participation and attendance. Sigh, or maybe I'm just too darn tired and it hasn't sunk in yet.

mebbe i'm a wolfman
I wanna start by saying... I WANNA WATCH THIS.
Okay.
As it turned out, exam on Tuesday was indeed a real paper. Apparently, our uninformative lecturer had misled us by mentioning that each question merely cost 4 marks, thus creating our underestimation. It was obvious to tell that most of us were stunned and furious at the bracketed 20s fer each question. Suspicious. However, we kinda justified our opinon by assuming that she'll generously award 5 marks per point made. At least, it was something to make us feel alot better, not forgetting that we had already spotted the required answers beforehand. I guess the entire class passed fer this one. Well, that's one down and two to go...
Had dinner at Central last night. Finally, tried my tandoori chicken Subway sandwich. I liked it. The entire building is relatively new, there's still a lot of units yet to be rented out. Did notice a candy bar in the basement though, which was hard to escape the eye with the crowd. They had this open kitchen theme where they demonstrated how the candy was made. Think glass-blowing, without glass and without air. I know it's senseless but it looked like the candyman was kneading mountains of semi-solid coloured sugar over a teppenyaki-styled stove. It's simple yet amusing to spectate.
Today wasn't much of a deal. It was constant change in weather and I wasted away the time Monster Hunting in bed while waiting fer YQ to arrive, only to cancel our gym session fer less strenuous activities; eg., installation of applications, streaming videos, etc. Then it was off to window-shop at Challenger's and JJ's fer prices we might get to compare with on products that probably'll be on sale at Sitex starting tomorrow at the Expo. Wonder if I should walk there... A USB multi-port just isn't worth it fer carpark admission, or EZ-Link credits fer that matter.
Whatever the plan is, I suppose I've gotta hit the sack early tonight in order to make it fer Mac breakfast in the morning. It's not like I have new stuff to watch now anyway. The hard disk is in my girlfriend's bag. Grrr. What an empty night. T_T
PS: Twisted my shoulder while I was asleep. My front lower gum has been bruising. And now there's another nosebleed acting up. Hope I'm not mutating.

judging from my calculations
First of all, I would like to thank YQ fer spending his off day over at my place, assisting me in formatting my desktop. With all the thrash outta the way and a generous donation to double my RAM, it's almost like we went Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind on the PC, totally feels like a brand new one. But one thing I'd like to set straight is, being a programmer doesn't exactly mean I know loads of crap about tech stuff. I know it's an exaggerated comparison but it's like how Neo only knows how to fight in The Matrix. Basically, I'm a specialist. Also, I would like to thank Miss Self-Proclaimed-Skeleton-With-Fats fer spending her time with me, learning a thing or two about how to deal with computers, if not worthlessly. I have to say it was rather productive and I learnt quite a handful of knowledge that can only be earned through experience and I'd be sure to bear it in mind.
However, we all know that's one day off the revision period. The first paper is on the 25th and if my math is still okay, then I've probably only covered 29.1375% of what I assumed will be coming out in question form fer the exams. Frankly, it looks like a shoo-in from the looks of outside the picture, I'm still not gonna underestimate the standard. Doing that hasn't gotten me far in the past and I highly doubt it will in the future that's to come. With less than 5 days and the Terminator soundtrack beating profusely louder and louder with each second gone, I foresee a serious anxiety attack if I don't do more than mere highlighting on text.
DOONGDOONG DOONG DOONGDOONG.

food fer thought
Now, I'm just wondering who'd win in a fight between Aizen Sosuke and Arthur Petrelli... Anyone with a reasonable deduction, please keep me notified because this self-created suspense is killing me.
PS: I know it's kinda geeky but from a class of people who call each other by their online usernames, I'm pretty sure I'm quite normal.

[whatever you think i'd say]
My, this is getting irregular, not to say I'm forgetting the blog life. It's not exactly an excuse to say that I was busy, 'cos I really was. Really.
That past week and a half were spent on brutally referencing and editing class projects before handing in the final pieces of work. I'm quite spent now. Brand's Essence Of Chicken can only help so much. I'm sure nothing like a coupla good nights' sleep will help me recover my stamina. Even when typing this, I can hardly keep my eyes open. And I still have to bring Victory downstairs. Hopefully, I don't start sleepwalking but I suppose one cannot drench himself of energy like he did back in National Service. I'm gonna end this short and sweet. Just wanted to update on my physical status. -_- If I go on anymore, I'd be blabbering. And many of you know I start mentioning weird shit when I get tired.
PS: I missed the Rihanna concert to rush last-minute touch-ups on the Microsoft Access presentation and scanning fer Corporate Social Responsibility material. Now, there's no new Naruto manga chapter that I had strongly anticipated fer this week. With the exams round the corner, I wonder what fun-filled events I might have clashed with revision. -sobs-

iced tea overdose
Microsoft Access is really confusing. I could really just be a noob but database management can occasionally screw yer mind up. However, I've gotten that assignment out of the way with its completion last night(only to be told the due date was delayed to the following week) to make time fer Quantum Of Solace today.
You've probably heard me say it before but I'll say it again. If Americans can pick the right candidate fer presidency, I don't see why they can't get someone better than Daniel Craig to play James Bond. Too square, too blonde and without black eyes. And to add to my disappointment, not many futuristic gadgets, no nice car and the best looking female character died horribly. Sorry fer the spoilers, I'm safely assuming all who're reading this have already watched it or plan not to. Don't get me started on villains, I was really expecting some high-class distinguishable bad guy with some fancy style of his or her own, not forgetting an exotic hideout. Sometimes, it's just good to kick it old school.
Of course, if you're looking fer something more lighthearted, go fer Tropic Thunder.
PS: I got my PSP back. Ha. I foresee a DJ Max fever comin' on.

dogsitting
Kinda feel proud of myself. Finished an hour-long test in the first 5 minutes. Everyone looked appalled upon my action of handing in my paper before they even got halfway through. You could say that I was on a roll. Turns out last night's writing in preparation paid off big time. I woke up with the answers running in circles within my skull. Felt like Chuck flashing through The Intersect when I glimpsed at the paper. However, the lecturer left the hall in the remaining minutes, fer whatever reason. My deduction is that he didn't wanna catch us cheating but also didn't want his passing rate to suck. Now with everyone sharing the info, it really didn't matter on who scored full marks in 5 minutes anymore(okay, maybe I'll leave an allowance on deduction of a mark with a certain irrelevant question in the test). -In The End by Linkin Park in the background-
Still, I guess this is emotionally redeeming. The B I managed to get fer last semester's module wasn't satisfactory. Considering my time was all fer only one subject, 3 months ago, I thought I'd at least get a better grade. Doesn't help when the mother is asking where the A went. It's not like I'm not being competitive... Bah, I've gotta admit I was pretty carefree back then and I learnt not to underestimate exams.
PS: The time fer work submission is nearing. Then study break fer exams. After which, I can dance like Corbin Bleu.

roots
I wouldn't exactly consider this the fact of the day, BUT.....~~
Did you know that I'm appoximately 6.25% non-Chinese? Yeah, like WTF mate. I found it out only today when we were on the topic of my coloured contacts, my aunt mentioned that my great-grandfather(my father's mother's father) had a naturally different colour from the rest of the family and it was not heterochromia. Turns out he was a Eurasian that hailed from China. Now, I'm not very sure how many Eurasians there are in China. Apparently, he's a mix of some blood that I've yet to identify. I'm currently very curious to find that out. However, the tiny percentage doesn't count fer anything when I still look Chinese. And I'm still gonna declare myself Chinese, whatever the fact is. Not like a certain blogger who intentionally faked her family tree with facial plastic.
Boy, you think you know every bit of yerself after 22 years...
PS: Even though the PSP's purpose fer me can be rightfully said as solely fer Monster Hunter, it wouldn't hurt checking out other stuff, like something from our friendly neighbourhood superhero that I stumbled upon.
And people wonder why he's so broody. Obviously, messed with the wrong alien race.

the sky is my blanket
Day by day, I stare blankly at an empty draft, processing random thoughts into doubtful fingers, only to have ideas whisked away, dissolved in the thin air between my digits and the keyboard. Tonight, I will attempt to make it different, even with the uneventful festive holidays, this amateur blogger will squeeze like a sponge in hopes that something verbally worthwhile will leak through his nerves.
Okay, that's probably as much "flowery language" you're gonna get. My attention has clearly been drifting into other forms of cyber-activities, which include online flash games like Pet Society(thanks to my aunt Irene), Bloons Tower Defense 3(thanks to TS), Helicopter and The Last Stand 2, weekly episodes of Chuck, Heroes and Big Bang Theory(thanks to YQ), plus the unavoidable manga-reading routine. There's also academic factors that have contributed to my absence on posting, class assignments are all due before the middle of next month(so screwed), not forgetting the class test coming up in 5 days' time(crossword puzzle styled, how cool is that but with extremely vague clues fer extra bombastic words), oh dear...
Of course, not everything's been about computers. I've been out and about to escape my unhealthy electron-radiating profession. Or at least doing my best. Yes, I know fast food is not exactly the greatest alternative to a internet-free life but nobody's perfect. I've been putting in a bit more effort into running recently, it's important now, considering my birthday will be here in less than 5 months. I suppose that'll be enough time to get me back into army-standard fitness. IPPT my friends, wish me luck and I'll need all the support I can get to clear it before the 11th of March(this is not a hint fer you to take note of).
While we're on the topics of latest news, I guess I should add in fer MIAed friends that I've changed my hairdo yet again. It's a short combed-down style, actually a poor replica of my Monster Hunter character's look but I did not deliberately copy it. I know guys have a habit of getting too enthusiastic with games but I'm pretty sure I myself wouldn't go that far. And since we're on that, I think I should chain-link the subject to my opinion of comic conversation. I do not see the problem with explaining to yer girlfriend the history of at least the more famous Marvel Super Heroes. With the constant movies based on superheroes being released in the recent coupla years, it's totally gonna be inevitable if girls plan on catching these awesome flicks. It's called background information. I'm not saying we're right, you can shut us up when we start stringing on to discuss who will win a fight between Spiderman and Mohinder Suresh.
Now, onto the journal. Glad I finally managed to catch up with Willard and YQ at our latest jamming session last Tuesday. It was the same songs all over again and fer a 2 hour rent on the studio, with YQ's friend as temporary guitarist, who is quite good, hopefully we'll see him on future meetings and maybe make him more permanent if possible, as permanent as Red Carabena can get. =P
Today, EngChye and Alyssa managed to find time to come see the house and trade movies. I'm currently wondering if I should actually organise a housewarming now that all my close friends have officially seen the place already. I'm getting kinda lazy when it comes to hosting. However, here's someone refusing to admit he's a little too old fer parties. Back on track, it was sad that Khai wasn't able to make it earlier today, now I've gotta last another week on my own, hunting Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian. Troublesome. Bah, have to get back to school work once the weekend's over anyway... Seriously.
PS: Looking fer someone who will watch High School Musical 3 with me. Maybe I will when my brother gets back from Taiwan tomorrow.
I know guys have a habit of getting too enthusiastic with games but I'm pretty sure I myself wouldn't go that far. gamer reborn
Many of you(or a few since I hardly share similar tastes with others on a variety of things) might recall Bob The Guardian from one of, if not the first, CG-animation, titled ReBoot, with his infamous quote, "This is bad. VERY bad."
With that thought still keenly locked into a certain neuron, I'm just glad I still know when to stop(and make an effort to keep this blog going). Addiction gets the best of me fer most of the time though. This actually sucks. I've gotta complete class assignments in a week's time and I'm still fooling around. And you know it's VERY bad when you start nagging at yerself.
I guess this pattern comes with the course I'm taking. We're pros at programming. Even bigger pros at gaming.
PS: September was pretty uneventful. Bowling at Warren and the 2 hour trip to Sentosa didn't count. So much fer my first civilian anniversary after taking off the green.

they should establish global cooling
I just walked my dog and suddenly it clicked in me to post an update to readers. No, it has got nothing to do with the prompts on the tagboard, implying that I have been lazy or given up on virtual logging.
So, it's like this. There's basically nothing else very important fer me to do online these days besides constantly checking fer school updates, the Bleach and Naruto mangas or Monster Hunter referencing. Been rather busy staying on the work side of computers, anyway, with assignment due dates around the corner. And it's not exactly helping when you have a group that's seven strong. I'm not gonna directly blame individual team members fer the lack of participation although there are souls who are oblivious to the fact that the majority dislikes the likes of them. Still, comparing with the rest of the class, I'd have to say that we're the only initiative with an initiative. At least, with different personalities, we can distribute thinking and leading roles subconsciously, providing an automated working system during discussion.
Urm... Fer those who didn't understand most of the lines phrased in the previous paragraph, I apologize. It must be from doing all those reports fer class. Typing skills are kicking in right about now. I'll try to refrain from sounding complicated. Too late. I'm done. There wasn't much to say. Just wanted to pop back on stage to give my shoutout.
PS: Walking with a dog can get you to make friends or enemies, depending on opposing parties' opinion on canine pets. Most of the time if the former is established, it'd be with the opposite sex, with yer fellow animal partner acting as a pick-up. Strangely enough, this time, I ended up talking to a tattoo-clad dude wearing a beanie and over-sized headphones. I assume he's a dog-lover, considering how much he favoured Victory. We ended up chatting about Uno, who many of you might not know of. Uno is the famous Jack Russell residing in my condo, whose territory is the patio of one of the ground floor units at my block. He practically barks at anything that moves. Recently, he went missing and the family, including several neighbours, started missing his squeaky voice. A couple of weeks passed before he miraculously returned to the house, all groomed. Okay, I dunno where this is leading but it's got something to do with how guys actually don't gossip much, let alone talk to other male strangers, aside from work or other forms of formal query.

ORD 1st anniversary
I just got back from what was initially assumed by me as a job opportunity dropping from the sky. I was quite pumped when the lady over the phone told me that I had been shortlisted from a list of students that they need to assist them in freelance. Apparently, they had gotten my number from a survey they did on me in the previous week at school. Call me naive but I saw it as a heavenly hint to get a job, fer I had thought it was gonna be some secretarial work. True enough(partially), the scope was to help out with a certain manager at a certain company, which involves selling health products and making money through what many of you will be familiar with, multi-level marketing. Frankly, I was quite disappointed that I was not filled in on such detail before making my time to rush down to Eunos. So anyway, I'm an open guy, not like a particular unreasonably fierce girlfriend who started cursing the people she didn't even meet fer "indirectly wasting her life"(just chill lah). I sat and listened to the orientation talks and even bothered to let in the concept fer I was gonna make the trip worth at least something. They were quite honest in their approach on persuasion, which I quite admire since it hardly feels real in their world. I was also quite surprised that most of the staff were around their 20s. Very young company. However, it was not enough to convince me to join them as a worker. I totally wouldn't feel a sense of belonging working this style of business. And as many of you would agree, I'm obviously not a "work harder, earn harder" kinda guy.
Oily food and heavy liquor was involved over the weekend with the occurence of my cousin Jovyna's wedding. I was already starting to feel the mental pain from lack of sleep due to early morning school and late night MSNing. I'm just glad she finally found someone to settle down with fer life. It's at points of life like this when yer mind starts wandering in a sea of what-ifs; everyone's getting married or at least planning to save up fer the ceremonials and they all belong to the same age group, so is it necessary fer me to be standing in line? Another thing is the annoying fact you can't differentiate distant cousins from complete strangers, you might actually have designs on some hot girl who's actually yer dad's cousin's brother-in-law's daughter.
Last night, we caught up with EngChye to have a pool session and dinner to celebrate a quiet but fulfilling birthday slot specially squeezed into his schedule fer us. I know two more things now: pool skills have severely deteriorated and Shin Kushiya serves awesomely delicious skewered japanese food.

the student speaks
Yes, I do realise that I have been away. Quite frankly, I haven't much to say but I'll try. I think it's mostly due to the fact that I don't keep in mind what to enter when something intriguing happens that you guys might actually bother hearing in about.
I suppose a major change would be that I'm now in my second semester, fer those of you who know that I'm currently in school. MDIS seems pretty cool so far, I've been around and about the UniCampus fer a while now and I guess you could say I'm still new enough to feel fascinated about the place and still has been here long enough to know the dirty deals that go on within.
On a more casual side, I haven't been frequenting town fer ages since the opening of Cathay's cineplex branch at DownTown East, Pasir Ris. With Subway and tickets fer $6, what's the point of heading to Orchard, the concrete jungle, when there's an actual park leading to the beach just outside my new hangout?
I just wanna let you people know that you're not forgotten and that I'm glad I'm not forgotten by you too... Our time together has not been thinning out because I'm attached, I assure you that. I'm pretty sure all of you will admit that it's the drive to head outdoors nowadays that is dying. Even with that fact outta the picture, I'm quite blank when it comes to blogging recently. This is not to say that I'll be quitting though. I strongly believe that after times of boredom, comes an era of awesome. Just waiting fer that period to come by. Yawn~
PS: Just to make sure I don't phase out like a time-shift victim... YQ, still waiting fer that Clone Wars movie outing. Khai, Metal Slug, KOF, Monster Hunter! EngChye, looking forward to yer birthday. Betty, urm, see ya soon. Haha.

stormy
With the wet weather back in progress, I would like to focus on a minor problem that has been around and everywhere. No no, people, I'm not talking about the flu but a "verbal enigma", or so to speak.
I shall be introducing 2 friends tonight; Mr. Thunder and Mr. Lightning. Of course, I'm not metaphorically referring to my guns, in which I'm metaphorically talking about my arms. It's the literal factors of storms here, which many people conveniently get confused between. Now, I'm not exactly feeling very uptight about the matter, it has, however, come to my attention upon discussing it with my brother a coupla days back since we made the very mistake of mixing up with the two as well. Why, is the question. Why does this maelstrom(haha pun) constantly befall on souls who are not in position to be English teachers? Alright. You saw this coming. I'm gonna use Pokémon as an example.
"Pikachu! Thundershock NOW!"
There's also Thunderwave, Thunderbolt and Thunder but it all still classifies under the same situation. It involves alot of electricity.
Okay, maybe I should pause fer a while to explain in lament terms to the anonymous oblivious characters reading this post now. Lightning is that huge flash in the sky, often forming temporary cracks of light, caused by static among rubbing clouds. Thunder is that loud sound you hear after that godly camera flash, usually happening a few seconds after, caused by sudden shifting in air molecules that bump into one another when they're pushed away fast and hard by the massive current.
Now that you see the difference, you can understand what I'm talking about. Although both these factors happen moments from each other in harsh weathers, it sounds kinda funny once you look into their define meanings. Now, listen.
"Thundershock!"
Now, even Pikachu's hesitant because he can't create a massive sonar explosion with his puny vocal cord that is strong enough to paralyze foes.
Done. Thank you fer reading this notice of awareness and I hope you all learnt something fruitful. I know it's not much but I'm sure you too know you'd fallen victim to this issue.
PS: Cue Room and Amber 21 with some of Amanda's classmates last night; Jaiy, Gold, Markus and Peter. This was all after Rani(another classmate of hers)'s baby's Hindu baptism(I dunno the actual name fer the ritual). Alcohol and late outings will never ever be a thing of the past.
Last picture:(from left)Markus, Peter, Gold, Amanda, Me and Jaiy.

coloured lenses have expired
Tuesday was spent at Pasir Ris, most of the time hanging around at DownTown East. Amanda and I had the Korean BBQ chicken which turned out tasting bloody awesome. It's just chicken fried in olive oil. Looks the same, tastes like a whole new world. Add in some spices with a side of salad and damn. Best lunch of the week. I could just be hungry. Nah. Was really good. After lunch came our movie, The Love Guru. It was like the Indian hippy version of Austin Powers. Still, Mike Myers humour is very funny. Oh and Benedict Seah was my usher. Guess it wasn't really a surprise, considering where he lives.
When it got dark, it was back to White Sands where I bought a new sling bag(finally) fer school/other purposes. Black leather baby, with button catches. Plastic buckles are now a thing of my past. The surface still feels a little sticky though, hope it seasons out with shine soon.
Now, I want all my east side folks to know of this place. Istanbul Gourmet. It's been around fer a while but I didn't exactly bother trying it out till a few days back. The Chicken Roll is to die fer and the chef was initially from Hyatt so that says something. It's at the ground floor of Eastpoint, just next to the bicycle shop near the carpark entrance.
Rest of last night was standard. Walk dog around home. Walk girlfriend home. Walk myself back home.
Today, I made a trip down to Tampines Giant/IKEA with Mommy. Bought the long-anticipated metal racks and dustbin fer my room. Once I get those things on the shelves, there'd be sufficient space to accomodate my keyboard and its stand. Look forward fer pictures of my clean room(you'll have to wait fer quite a bit, haha).
I tuned in to Channel 5 to catch the repeat telecast of the Olympics opening ceremony since I missed the live one. Omg lah it was spectacular. Say what you want about China, you have got to admit it was one heck of a show. And don't gimme that horse crap about the lead singing little girl lip-syncing or some digitally added fireworks in the backdrop. Fact to the matter is that their hosting and the moment's reactions could jolly well not deny the magnificent performance. Bravo. -clap clap- I literally shaked at the luminous drums part. Also, it was to be expected from the country where fireworks came from.
PS: Kongfucius is back, this time saying, "Boys believe in logic, girls believe in magic". Touche. Think about it. DEEEEEEP.
"Waitdonttakethepictureyet. Damn."
It started raining before we could leave fer a stroll back to the interchange. Good thing the weather sorta subsided within minutes and it lowered to a slight drizzle by the time we reached the canal, where we witnessed a kingfishers' buffet, with a large school of fish stranded and disorientated by the rushing rainwater out a certain big pipe. Our live documentary continued as we strolled into the park and took a coupla pictures of the scenery which seemed strangely nostalgic. Don't say army. We were in the mangroves fer a bit, watching birds and crabs, unfortunately without water snakes. =(
"GOT ONE! WOOT!"
They've been trying to swim up the pipe like Persians at the Hot Gates.
There's a lifeless pond by the right. You can't see it in this photo.
Mother Nature's with me on this one. Up yers.
