didn't get a wii

I'm very sure no one was expecting a log on my life during the festivities. After all, I did SMS every single person on my phonebook as sincerely as "Merry X'mas" would seem over a text message. So a post would deem a very sad virtual greeting.

The eve was spent with Amanda and Khairul, we had dinner at the BBQ Chicken place at DownTown East before checking out new games like Tatsunoko VS Capcom and watching Ip Man(my favourite movie of December). Rain was heavy but we managed to get to shelter with minimal drenching. Crazy weather. However, what's crazier than the weather was Donnie Yen's punching speed. Khairul and I tried the moves after the film, we looked ridiculous. Still, there are only two words fer Ip Man: FUCKING AWESOME.

Christmas and Boxing Day parties were hosted by Kev and Greg respectively. If I know anything, it's that gatherings like that haven't changed a bit. A table with every kind of meat and various alcohols over conversations about games and old school stories or just making fun of each other. Maybe it was the food or the sitting but I got pretty drained by the time the clock struck 2. All in all, everyone had their share of laughs, so I guess it's like how every Christmas special on any TV show would conclude before the credits roll, except that it was humid and there were no jingling bells.

PS: Wow, when I type it down, it doesn't seem like a lot happened. Maybe it's because I'm too lazy to journalise the scorching Tuesday I went down to Ericsson Pet Farm with Juvena, her little sis and my girlfriend to purchase a pair of hamsters, followed by a night of Mario Kart DS multiplayer. And school starts on Monday. WTF right? At least the class has been moved to the Dhoby Ghaut campus. That's gonna be much more lenient on my EZ-Link card.

unhealthy in a good way

Besides catching The Day The Earth Stood Still, the entire last week was generally me on the road to recovery from internal bleeding due to what I can assume is overwhelming gastric fluids melting my stomach. I'm better now. My diet's better now. The back still hurts a little bit but it's also getting better. Hopefully, I can head back to the gym before the end of next week.

Spent the days at home contemplating my educational route. I had to have a professional perspective so I headed down to the campus to have the programme consultant help me with his knowledge on what's in store. I personally felt that my trip down to school was to have someone convince me on why I should go fer the class I'm eyeing fer. I was already leaning towards one side of the fence to begin with. So it's been decided that I stick to Information Technology, rather then branching out to the integrated skills of Business Computing or a new thing like Digital Multimedia. I realistically deducted that a double major would be more promising than an honour's degree, with something vast to fall back on instead of a high-status field of close-ranged expertise. In the end, a degree is still a degree. So yup.

Now that I've got the academic aspect settled... The Arena. Even with a bleeding stomach, I had the mood to go fer a party. The fact being that I'd not been there before and not clubbing in months made the night slightly more exhilirating. As exhilirating as tequila shots and martell mixes can take you.

10 seconds short of a silver

Back again in the usual clothes. Had been suffering from a serious case of indigestion fer the past 3 days. Fortunately, the illness occured the night after I passed my IPPT. I'm still unsure of the cause being abdomenal cramps from living a long time without practicing on my sit-ups or I had eaten something bad at one of the camp's messes. There was a specific point earlier in the week when the rest of the body except the stomach area ached a real deal and it surprisingly felt better. The pain in my tummy just was killing me and I haven't been sleeping well at night.

The medicine either isn't working or is reacting much slower than the acid melting the layers of muscle within my throat. Much like the medics who made me wait an incredibly long period of time fer my prescription. They seemed to be more interested in figuring out how lightsticks work than treat their last patient of the day.

So far, I feel less uncomfortable while trying the fight-fire-with-fire approach, i.e., to stuff myself with tidbits fer breakfast and I think the food is finally going down past the ribcage. I'll be grateful fer that, tasting vomit isn't exactly the best thing in the world.

PS: I bumped into Arthur after shopping at the Reservist Souvenir Shop, otherwise known as the E-Mart. He's still a trainee, in envy that I can enter offices at my will. And felt kinda uncomfortable when he was chatting with me like I'm an active sergeant. Lol~

will they gimme the new uniform?

A mix of Brand's to do my best and Mentos to make me fresh over the past 2 weeks has allowed me to unlock that spare energy to tolerate stress levels up to today. At last, the last paper fer my Diploma in Infocommunications Technology has ended. It wasn't exactly a tough paper to finish off but the answers were sure as hell darn long(could just be me, was the third last to leave the room). In this case, I'm sure the quality is in the quantity. Now that I can have a breather, it still feels weird that I'm loafing around empty-handed. Part of my heart is telling me that I've yet to cover another textbook or write some notes. But on the whole, I feel like the polar opposite of that green monster at the end of every Just For Laughs episode.

The entire gang sat down fer milkshake at Billy Bombers(saw Jill and SMSed her but I didn't get a reply, tsk...) at The Cathay, which is just behind the Dhoby Ghaut campus. I, of course, had to be special and ordered a bowl of nachos mixed with salsa, cheese, chicken cubes and jalapeƱo slices. Just typing it out is enough to make my mouth water again. So anyway we followed up with pool at Paradiz Centre where many technical faults took place. I didn't really wanna start showing off my skillz-dat-killz from the moment the table opened so I ran an errand of exchanging a defective USB LED/fan fer my girlfriend at Sunshine Plaza with Egg(TeckSeng, but Egg sounds more welcoming and it's easier to type) as company. I don't exactly remember the name of the shop but they damn right have no knowledge of doing business. There was no receipt fer me. They had no contacts with other branches to check stock. And okay, I know they are girls but they weren't ballsy at all. I was quite annoyed by the fact that they told me I had the last piece and I had to switch it with some other useless piece of shit in that junkyard. After much consideration about topping up the charge and the degree of the product usage, I managed to conjure a 5-minute case study in my brain and conclude to buy the Hello Kitty standing fan which is also operational via batteries. The piece also happened to be the last one in stock and I surprised myself with this loud tone when I questioned them if everything in the store was the last of each. It just occured to me that I didn't enquire if I could charge batteries while plugging it into the USB port. Fuck it. Novelty shops are fun but just fucked. Maybe it's like how you can go to the zoo but you can't keep yer own white tiger.

Havin' a break @ Billy Bombers after the paper.[clockwise from front left: Superhero, GrizzlyBear, Tackey, Spammer, Koolwool, Egg & Sk8terBoi]

Late night movie of the week: Quarantine. I had secretly anticipated this flick fer a while, knowing that it had that video-camera concept going on. If you're not so easily nauseated or especially faint-hearted, you can bother to watch this film, though you might already predict the ending before the film starts. Still, it's one freaky movie to keep you on the edge of the edge of the edge of yer seat. You might retain a funny feeling that something is gonna suddenly jump at you from behind to rip yer neck or cheek off.

PS: I just found out that the advanced diploma route has specialized paths as well. Guess I'll have to make another choice after enquiring with the noob coordinator. Fer now, the next three days will be spent preparing fer my four-day reservist camp.

lagging

Aftermath of a hardcore study night almost feels like what one would, following a crazy party.

Except that I didn't have my contact lenses still on.

Except that the butterflies in my stomach were not from vodka or bourbon.

Except that I had no recollection of a sexually tensed occurance with a hot chick.

Except that my ears are working fine.

Except that my consumables were not released orally.

Except that my hair didn't have wax.

Except that I wasn't wearing a denim jacket in bed.

And except that I didn't receive any morning calls starting with, "YO!", "HAHA." or "EHHH...".

PS: The Database Management paper today sucked ass. And I totally feel bad. Not because I think it's such a difficult examination[I seriously did mug my ass off(okay, it didn't come off)]. I felt bad because I didn't feel bad about knowing I did not do well. I suppose the sorrow had already been passed around and shared by the entire hall. The faces with only one look: hopeless. The grade fer this module now rests in our assignment results, class participation and attendance. Sigh, or maybe I'm just too darn tired and it hasn't sunk in yet.
