Kinda feel proud of myself. Finished an hour-long test in the first 5 minutes. Everyone looked appalled upon my action of handing in my paper before they even got halfway through. You could say that I was on a roll. Turns out last night's writing in preparation paid off big time. I woke up with the answers running in circles within my skull. Felt like Chuck flashing through The Intersect when I glimpsed at the paper. However, the lecturer left the hall in the remaining minutes, fer whatever reason. My deduction is that he didn't wanna catch us cheating but also didn't want his passing rate to suck. Now with everyone sharing the info, it really didn't matter on who scored full marks in 5 minutes anymore(okay, maybe I'll leave an allowance on deduction of a mark with a certain irrelevant question in the test). -In The End by Linkin Park in the background-
Still, I guess this is emotionally redeeming. The B I managed to get fer last semester's module wasn't satisfactory. Considering my time was all fer only one subject, 3 months ago, I thought I'd at least get a better grade. Doesn't help when the mother is asking where the A went. It's not like I'm not being competitive... Bah, I've gotta admit I was pretty carefree back then and I learnt not to underestimate exams.
PS: The time fer work submission is nearing. Then study break fer exams. After which, I can dance like Corbin Bleu.

roots
I wouldn't exactly consider this the fact of the day, BUT.....~~
Did you know that I'm appoximately 6.25% non-Chinese? Yeah, like WTF mate. I found it out only today when we were on the topic of my coloured contacts, my aunt mentioned that my great-grandfather(my father's mother's father) had a naturally different colour from the rest of the family and it was not heterochromia. Turns out he was a Eurasian that hailed from China. Now, I'm not very sure how many Eurasians there are in China. Apparently, he's a mix of some blood that I've yet to identify. I'm currently very curious to find that out. However, the tiny percentage doesn't count fer anything when I still look Chinese. And I'm still gonna declare myself Chinese, whatever the fact is. Not like a certain blogger who intentionally faked her family tree with facial plastic.
Boy, you think you know every bit of yerself after 22 years...
PS: Even though the PSP's purpose fer me can be rightfully said as solely fer Monster Hunter, it wouldn't hurt checking out other stuff, like something from our friendly neighbourhood superhero that I stumbled upon.
And people wonder why he's so broody. Obviously, messed with the wrong alien race.

the sky is my blanket
Day by day, I stare blankly at an empty draft, processing random thoughts into doubtful fingers, only to have ideas whisked away, dissolved in the thin air between my digits and the keyboard. Tonight, I will attempt to make it different, even with the uneventful festive holidays, this amateur blogger will squeeze like a sponge in hopes that something verbally worthwhile will leak through his nerves.
Okay, that's probably as much "flowery language" you're gonna get. My attention has clearly been drifting into other forms of cyber-activities, which include online flash games like Pet Society(thanks to my aunt Irene), Bloons Tower Defense 3(thanks to TS), Helicopter and The Last Stand 2, weekly episodes of Chuck, Heroes and Big Bang Theory(thanks to YQ), plus the unavoidable manga-reading routine. There's also academic factors that have contributed to my absence on posting, class assignments are all due before the middle of next month(so screwed), not forgetting the class test coming up in 5 days' time(crossword puzzle styled, how cool is that but with extremely vague clues fer extra bombastic words), oh dear...
Of course, not everything's been about computers. I've been out and about to escape my unhealthy electron-radiating profession. Or at least doing my best. Yes, I know fast food is not exactly the greatest alternative to a internet-free life but nobody's perfect. I've been putting in a bit more effort into running recently, it's important now, considering my birthday will be here in less than 5 months. I suppose that'll be enough time to get me back into army-standard fitness. IPPT my friends, wish me luck and I'll need all the support I can get to clear it before the 11th of March(this is not a hint fer you to take note of).
While we're on the topics of latest news, I guess I should add in fer MIAed friends that I've changed my hairdo yet again. It's a short combed-down style, actually a poor replica of my Monster Hunter character's look but I did not deliberately copy it. I know guys have a habit of getting too enthusiastic with games but I'm pretty sure I myself wouldn't go that far. And since we're on that, I think I should chain-link the subject to my opinion of comic conversation. I do not see the problem with explaining to yer girlfriend the history of at least the more famous Marvel Super Heroes. With the constant movies based on superheroes being released in the recent coupla years, it's totally gonna be inevitable if girls plan on catching these awesome flicks. It's called background information. I'm not saying we're right, you can shut us up when we start stringing on to discuss who will win a fight between Spiderman and Mohinder Suresh.
Now, onto the journal. Glad I finally managed to catch up with Willard and YQ at our latest jamming session last Tuesday. It was the same songs all over again and fer a 2 hour rent on the studio, with YQ's friend as temporary guitarist, who is quite good, hopefully we'll see him on future meetings and maybe make him more permanent if possible, as permanent as Red Carabena can get. =P
Today, EngChye and Alyssa managed to find time to come see the house and trade movies. I'm currently wondering if I should actually organise a housewarming now that all my close friends have officially seen the place already. I'm getting kinda lazy when it comes to hosting. However, here's someone refusing to admit he's a little too old fer parties. Back on track, it was sad that Khai wasn't able to make it earlier today, now I've gotta last another week on my own, hunting Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian. Troublesome. Bah, have to get back to school work once the weekend's over anyway... Seriously.
PS: Looking fer someone who will watch High School Musical 3 with me. Maybe I will when my brother gets back from Taiwan tomorrow.

gamer reborn
Many of you(or a few since I hardly share similar tastes with others on a variety of things) might recall Bob The Guardian from one of, if not the first, CG-animation, titled ReBoot, with his infamous quote, "This is bad. VERY bad."
With that thought still keenly locked into a certain neuron, I'm just glad I still know when to stop(and make an effort to keep this blog going). Addiction gets the best of me fer most of the time though. This actually sucks. I've gotta complete class assignments in a week's time and I'm still fooling around. And you know it's VERY bad when you start nagging at yerself.
I guess this pattern comes with the course I'm taking. We're pros at programming. Even bigger pros at gaming.
PS: September was pretty uneventful. Bowling at Warren and the 2 hour trip to Sentosa didn't count. So much fer my first civilian anniversary after taking off the green.

they should establish global cooling
I just walked my dog and suddenly it clicked in me to post an update to readers. No, it has got nothing to do with the prompts on the tagboard, implying that I have been lazy or given up on virtual logging.
So, it's like this. There's basically nothing else very important fer me to do online these days besides constantly checking fer school updates, the Bleach and Naruto mangas or Monster Hunter referencing. Been rather busy staying on the work side of computers, anyway, with assignment due dates around the corner. And it's not exactly helping when you have a group that's seven strong. I'm not gonna directly blame individual team members fer the lack of participation although there are souls who are oblivious to the fact that the majority dislikes the likes of them. Still, comparing with the rest of the class, I'd have to say that we're the only initiative with an initiative. At least, with different personalities, we can distribute thinking and leading roles subconsciously, providing an automated working system during discussion.
Urm... Fer those who didn't understand most of the lines phrased in the previous paragraph, I apologize. It must be from doing all those reports fer class. Typing skills are kicking in right about now. I'll try to refrain from sounding complicated. Too late. I'm done. There wasn't much to say. Just wanted to pop back on stage to give my shoutout.
PS: Walking with a dog can get you to make friends or enemies, depending on opposing parties' opinion on canine pets. Most of the time if the former is established, it'd be with the opposite sex, with yer fellow animal partner acting as a pick-up. Strangely enough, this time, I ended up talking to a tattoo-clad dude wearing a beanie and over-sized headphones. I assume he's a dog-lover, considering how much he favoured Victory. We ended up chatting about Uno, who many of you might not know of. Uno is the famous Jack Russell residing in my condo, whose territory is the patio of one of the ground floor units at my block. He practically barks at anything that moves. Recently, he went missing and the family, including several neighbours, started missing his squeaky voice. A couple of weeks passed before he miraculously returned to the house, all groomed. Okay, I dunno where this is leading but it's got something to do with how guys actually don't gossip much, let alone talk to other male strangers, aside from work or other forms of formal query.

ORD 1st anniversary
I just got back from what was initially assumed by me as a job opportunity dropping from the sky. I was quite pumped when the lady over the phone told me that I had been shortlisted from a list of students that they need to assist them in freelance. Apparently, they had gotten my number from a survey they did on me in the previous week at school. Call me naive but I saw it as a heavenly hint to get a job, fer I had thought it was gonna be some secretarial work. True enough(partially), the scope was to help out with a certain manager at a certain company, which involves selling health products and making money through what many of you will be familiar with, multi-level marketing. Frankly, I was quite disappointed that I was not filled in on such detail before making my time to rush down to Eunos. So anyway, I'm an open guy, not like a particular unreasonably fierce girlfriend who started cursing the people she didn't even meet fer "indirectly wasting her life"(just chill lah). I sat and listened to the orientation talks and even bothered to let in the concept fer I was gonna make the trip worth at least something. They were quite honest in their approach on persuasion, which I quite admire since it hardly feels real in their world. I was also quite surprised that most of the staff were around their 20s. Very young company. However, it was not enough to convince me to join them as a worker. I totally wouldn't feel a sense of belonging working this style of business. And as many of you would agree, I'm obviously not a "work harder, earn harder" kinda guy.
Oily food and heavy liquor was involved over the weekend with the occurence of my cousin Jovyna's wedding. I was already starting to feel the mental pain from lack of sleep due to early morning school and late night MSNing. I'm just glad she finally found someone to settle down with fer life. It's at points of life like this when yer mind starts wandering in a sea of what-ifs; everyone's getting married or at least planning to save up fer the ceremonials and they all belong to the same age group, so is it necessary fer me to be standing in line? Another thing is the annoying fact you can't differentiate distant cousins from complete strangers, you might actually have designs on some hot girl who's actually yer dad's cousin's brother-in-law's daughter.
Last night, we caught up with EngChye to have a pool session and dinner to celebrate a quiet but fulfilling birthday slot specially squeezed into his schedule fer us. I know two more things now: pool skills have severely deteriorated and Shin Kushiya serves awesomely delicious skewered japanese food.

the student speaks
Yes, I do realise that I have been away. Quite frankly, I haven't much to say but I'll try. I think it's mostly due to the fact that I don't keep in mind what to enter when something intriguing happens that you guys might actually bother hearing in about.
I suppose a major change would be that I'm now in my second semester, fer those of you who know that I'm currently in school. MDIS seems pretty cool so far, I've been around and about the UniCampus fer a while now and I guess you could say I'm still new enough to feel fascinated about the place and still has been here long enough to know the dirty deals that go on within.
On a more casual side, I haven't been frequenting town fer ages since the opening of Cathay's cineplex branch at DownTown East, Pasir Ris. With Subway and tickets fer $6, what's the point of heading to Orchard, the concrete jungle, when there's an actual park leading to the beach just outside my new hangout?
I just wanna let you people know that you're not forgotten and that I'm glad I'm not forgotten by you too... Our time together has not been thinning out because I'm attached, I assure you that. I'm pretty sure all of you will admit that it's the drive to head outdoors nowadays that is dying. Even with that fact outta the picture, I'm quite blank when it comes to blogging recently. This is not to say that I'll be quitting though. I strongly believe that after times of boredom, comes an era of awesome. Just waiting fer that period to come by. Yawn~
PS: Just to make sure I don't phase out like a time-shift victim... YQ, still waiting fer that Clone Wars movie outing. Khai, Metal Slug, KOF, Monster Hunter! EngChye, looking forward to yer birthday. Betty, urm, see ya soon. Haha.

stormy
With the wet weather back in progress, I would like to focus on a minor problem that has been around and everywhere. No no, people, I'm not talking about the flu but a "verbal enigma", or so to speak.
I shall be introducing 2 friends tonight; Mr. Thunder and Mr. Lightning. Of course, I'm not metaphorically referring to my guns, in which I'm metaphorically talking about my arms. It's the literal factors of storms here, which many people conveniently get confused between. Now, I'm not exactly feeling very uptight about the matter, it has, however, come to my attention upon discussing it with my brother a coupla days back since we made the very mistake of mixing up with the two as well. Why, is the question. Why does this maelstrom(haha pun) constantly befall on souls who are not in position to be English teachers? Alright. You saw this coming. I'm gonna use Pokémon as an example.
"Pikachu! Thundershock NOW!"
There's also Thunderwave, Thunderbolt and Thunder but it all still classifies under the same situation. It involves alot of electricity.
Okay, maybe I should pause fer a while to explain in lament terms to the anonymous oblivious characters reading this post now. Lightning is that huge flash in the sky, often forming temporary cracks of light, caused by static among rubbing clouds. Thunder is that loud sound you hear after that godly camera flash, usually happening a few seconds after, caused by sudden shifting in air molecules that bump into one another when they're pushed away fast and hard by the massive current.
Now that you see the difference, you can understand what I'm talking about. Although both these factors happen moments from each other in harsh weathers, it sounds kinda funny once you look into their define meanings. Now, listen.
"Thundershock!"
Now, even Pikachu's hesitant because he can't create a massive sonar explosion with his puny vocal cord that is strong enough to paralyze foes.
Done. Thank you fer reading this notice of awareness and I hope you all learnt something fruitful. I know it's not much but I'm sure you too know you'd fallen victim to this issue.
PS: Cue Room and Amber 21 with some of Amanda's classmates last night; Jaiy, Gold, Markus and Peter. This was all after Rani(another classmate of hers)'s baby's Hindu baptism(I dunno the actual name fer the ritual). Alcohol and late outings will never ever be a thing of the past.

Last picture:(from left)Markus, Peter, Gold, Amanda, Me and Jaiy.

coloured lenses have expired
Tuesday was spent at Pasir Ris, most of the time hanging around at DownTown East. Amanda and I had the Korean BBQ chicken which turned out tasting bloody awesome. It's just chicken fried in olive oil. Looks the same, tastes like a whole new world. Add in some spices with a side of salad and damn. Best lunch of the week. I could just be hungry. Nah. Was really good. After lunch came our movie, The Love Guru. It was like the Indian hippy version of Austin Powers. Still, Mike Myers humour is very funny. Oh and Benedict Seah was my usher. Guess it wasn't really a surprise, considering where he lives.
When it got dark, it was back to White Sands where I bought a new sling bag(finally) fer school/other purposes. Black leather baby, with button catches. Plastic buckles are now a thing of my past. The surface still feels a little sticky though, hope it seasons out with shine soon.
Now, I want all my east side folks to know of this place. Istanbul Gourmet. It's been around fer a while but I didn't exactly bother trying it out till a few days back. The Chicken Roll is to die fer and the chef was initially from Hyatt so that says something. It's at the ground floor of Eastpoint, just next to the bicycle shop near the carpark entrance.
Rest of last night was standard. Walk dog around home. Walk girlfriend home. Walk myself back home.
Today, I made a trip down to Tampines Giant/IKEA with Mommy. Bought the long-anticipated metal racks and dustbin fer my room. Once I get those things on the shelves, there'd be sufficient space to accomodate my keyboard and its stand. Look forward fer pictures of my clean room(you'll have to wait fer quite a bit, haha).
I tuned in to Channel 5 to catch the repeat telecast of the Olympics opening ceremony since I missed the live one. Omg lah it was spectacular. Say what you want about China, you have got to admit it was one heck of a show. And don't gimme that horse crap about the lead singing little girl lip-syncing or some digitally added fireworks in the backdrop. Fact to the matter is that their hosting and the moment's reactions could jolly well not deny the magnificent performance. Bravo. -clap clap- I literally shaked at the luminous drums part. Also, it was to be expected from the country where fireworks came from.
PS: Kongfucius is back, this time saying, "Boys believe in logic, girls believe in magic". Touche. Think about it. DEEEEEEP.
"Waitdonttakethepictureyet. Damn."
It started raining before we could leave fer a stroll back to the interchange. Good thing the weather sorta subsided within minutes and it lowered to a slight drizzle by the time we reached the canal, where we witnessed a kingfishers' buffet, with a large school of fish stranded and disorientated by the rushing rainwater out a certain big pipe. Our live documentary continued as we strolled into the park and took a coupla pictures of the scenery which seemed strangely nostalgic. Don't say army. We were in the mangroves fer a bit, watching birds and crabs, unfortunately without water snakes. =(
"GOT ONE! WOOT!"
They've been trying to swim up the pipe like Persians at the Hot Gates.
There's a lifeless pond by the right. You can't see it in this photo.
Mother Nature's with me on this one. Up yers.

DEEEEEEP.

seriously
Okay, so you guys had to wait longer than the usual fer my comeback(who in the world am I talking to again?), here's my apologies. Don't accept it just yet. I'll waste more of yer time by saying neither have I been jotting down points to log in a journal nor have been thinking up an interesting subject fer discussion. Not to say I've got one foot out the blogger's circle, it's just another writer's block over here and the rust won't go away fer awhile until a current problem comes to mind.
..........
*ring ring*
Alrighty then, here comes the brain lubricant. Some mofo just called my house number. So being the rightful answering party that I am, said hello. The reply was another hello. And pause. Okay. I wanted to make sure the young gentleman or squeaky lady(androgynous voice) was still on the line so I said,...
Me(L):"Hello?"
Dumbass(DA):"Hello?"
L:"...Yes?"
DA:"Hello?"
L:"Yes, hello."
DA:"Hello?"
L:"Hi, who're you looking fer?"
DA:"Hello?"
L:"Who is this?"
At this point, he/she said some name I couldn't make out.
L:"... Uh, I think you have the wrong number."
DA:"Hello?"
L:"Wrong number."
DA:"..."
And then the caller hangs up. I really doubt it was a prank call with the ending silence since I sense the person sincerely dialed the wrong number. That was pretty understandable but the unforgivingly annoying part was the hang-up. Kids, today, we are going to talk about phone etiquette. I'm not one to be mad at being hung up on first before hanging up. This isn't a romantic call. Seriously, it would suffice to declare any form of apology before ending the random conversation. How so rude. People in our country nowadays. Maybe I'm just being anal about the proper way of talking, which is to brush it with a coat of politeness. Sure, there are probably many other factors that can contribute to this situation, like the caller's confidence. Who am I kidding? Rude means rude.
Which leads me on to talk about other forms of random conversations over the phone. Telemarketers. Oooh, I'm sure you've all heard of this one. Credit cards, insurance, and promotions. Who would pick a job like that? Seriously. I'm pretty familiar with the idea of customers being very hard to handle but if you're a telemarketer, you're asking fer it. Junk mail is, at least, tolerable as you can simply dispose of it like a given flyer by escalators of malls and stations. It's another thing altogether to go out of yer way to intrude another person's privacy to persuade the unfortunate soul to increase yer commission. Of course, if you're straightforward enough, you'll just hang up on the bugger but if you're like me and yer political rule #1(hanging up on people is rude) clashed with moral rule #1(hang up on idiots), then they have obviously and successfully wasted yer month's free minutes. Also, if you actually hang up on them, they're still too dull to take a hint and seriously will bother to call you back, deducing to the fact that yer line was "accidentally cut off". Just like the stalkers you never had.
On my personal account, how I take on this kind of situations is, tell the fella I'm currently busy, and get him or her to call me back later while I take note of the number and don't answer after that. And if something like that happens in real life, mostly people requesting you to fill in surveys or selling stuff in aid of some disaster that happened somewhere with the same name of some soup, I just wave my hand in their faces like I'm doing a Jedi mind trick before walking off. It's really cool and it works. Seriously.
OKAY, DONE WITH THE COMPLAINT DECLARATION. IF YOU'RE WONDERING WHY THIS PARAGRAPH IS IN CAPS, IT'S BECAUSE I KNOW SOME OF YOU SKIP IMPORTANT BITS WHEN I TYPE A LOAD OF CRAP NOBODY CARES ABOUT. AND PUTTING IT UP IN BIG LETTERS OUGHTTA CATCH YER ATTENTION, SERIOUSLY. NOW, I HAVE AN IDEA. I'LL MOST LIKELY BE COMING UP WITH MORE POSTS LIKE THIS AND I'D VERY MUCH APPRECIATE IT IF ANYONE WOULD BE BOTHERED ENOUGH TO UTILIZE THE TAGBOARD TO FILL IN YER VIEWS ON THE CURRENT TOPIC. THE DISCLAIMER HERE'S THAT I'M NOT TRYING TO GET MORE HITS, SERIOUSLY. JUST THOUGHT I'D TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND HOPEFULLY SPICE THINGS UP AROUND HERE. AND IT'LL SERIOUSLY MOTIVATE ME TO COME UP WITH MORE SHIT AS WELL, SERIOUSLY.
So, just tell me how you feel against retards on the phone like this or in public. Tell me how irritated you are that I've used "seriously" numerous times. Tell me if you prefer more journalizing or to throw in more pennies fer my thoughts. Tell me if you wanna see more photos, videos and links.
PS: Okay, I remember a little of what I've done since the last post. I completed Final Fantasy Crisis Core and Naruto Ultimate Heroes 2 on the PSP. I caught a coupla movies, including The Dark Knight and Mummy 3 in cinemas, much more at home on my lovable laptop. Practically missed viewing fireworks every Saturday at the Waterfront. Bought 2 storybooks which I've yet to start on. Finished my exam with ease, based more on muscle memory, with the constant writing of notes till the recent hours before the paper, than brain memory... Missed out on Singfest. My hair is shorter than ever(okay, not ever, ever being BMT). Oh, also, my paycheck fer that M1 commercial I was in but you could hardly see me has finally come in and so has my driver's license.
Last thing, my two current favourite songs are Leaving by Jesse McCartney and Cookie Jar by Gym Class Heroes featuring The Dream. Unlucky fer me, I've not been able to find them anywhere on the internet with mirrors I can download from, so it'd be very much appreciated it any of you have any or both these songs could send them to me. You can stream them anywhere if you've not heard'em. Thanks~

good journey
Don't waste yer time. I'm not one to be conscious about my hit counters so you don't have to keep checking fer updates, unless you're utilizing the tagboard. I'll be back after my exam ends, which is on the 2nd of August.
I'd like to stay busy studying troubleshooting fer computers and take breaks with Monster Hunter Freedom 2 in the mean time.
PS: Come on, don't tell me you didn't watch the live action He-man movie.

block in the brain
Okay. I lied about it. I've been out and about these coupla days but I was just too damn lazy to blog about it. I've been watching quite a few movies in the theatres, as well as a catch-up with Erdiana and EngChye last week... Just thought that if I posted about the same old then things wouldn't be so interesting. Or would it? That is why you read this, no?
Whatever it is, I seem to be running low on ammo. And with the driving test out of the way, the only thing left now is to clear this term with expected flying colours. Sigh~ It's probably one of those monotonous phases in life that prevent you from living on the fast lane and you're just forced to watch the world go by as you're held back while processing stage progression. Or I could just be losing the drive.
PS: If were trying to fish out some movie reviews, then go catch Hellboy 2 if you're in fer something colourful, 10 Promises To My Dog if you're into something touching and teary or The Dark Knight if you wanna witness some superpowerless beings battling the wits outta one another.

same old real world
First Wednesday with school. It was something to look forward to even though it was a morning session because I've not been in school fer 11 days(weekends included). This was a rescheduled class fer the Friday before. Lunch was in school again. I had my top-of-the-list nasi bryani before heading to town to catch up with TeckSeng and YiShun(yes, that really is his name) at City Hall fer some King Of Fighters and Time Crisis action. Also, I dunno what draws me to that irritant of a game called Stacker but I bet it's got something to do with the PS3 lying in its display.
After a trip to Times(CUTE ASSISTANT) and a drink at Carl's Jr.(CUTE CASHIER), we made our way down to Plaza Singapura on foot to browse summore shops and lastly Daiso(CUTE CUSTOMERS) before I split ways to meet up with the princess duo. We then sat outside the mall fer a bit to munch on some beans, after which we strolled to Takashimaya to do some window shopping and then dinner. We ate it at some pasta café called Pasta Café. Tried some outstandingly blackish squid ink spaghetti dish and noticed neighbouring eyes scrutinizing my plate and face. Come on, people, this isn't Fear Factor, we're Singaporeans. So anyway, there was nothing much I really wanted to state today besides the fact that the Food Festival is now on and I don't think this will help in regulating my diet. Curse appreciation... I need summore willpower-fuelled muscle.
PS: Driving lesson number 25 tomorrow. Sigh~ Just 2 more to go before next Thursday's practical test. It's so close and yet still so far. Obviously, I wouldn't wanna dream that far ahead but oh the things I'd do with a car.
Of course, I'll have a Honda Jazz instead. And check out part two with the Volkswagen Fox.

enhorabuena españa
After waking up to a rather surprising result to the final, I opened the windows to let the breeze in and made myself two slices of Gardenia bread with margarine that were toasted fer 4 minutes, followed by Waffle Crisp cereal with milk while having Love In This Club by Usher featuring Young Jeezy on repeat in my Windows Media Player. Only this form of pamper was able to soothe the brooding over yesterday's waste.
I had planned on blogging about a beautiful Sunday, starting off with a smooth lesson in Japanese class at Eastpoint before heading back to get dressed fer town. Then, taking a train down to City Hall where NEKO-CHAAAAN(baby, ya know I'm not gonna live that down fer at least another week) and I would have a nice lunch at Marina Square's Kopitiam, where they sell the claypot curry chicken I've been craving fer since who-knows-when, preferably served with a bowl or rice and a side of french toast. After which, we'd strolled to Suntec to catch the gaming and comic convention I had waited fer fer weeks. Probably take a coupla shots with guest artists of yer favourite serials, as well as professional cosplayers. Once my geekdom satisfaction had been fulfilled, we would later have a lot of french fries before watching something at the cinemas. At least some of it turned out true; had dinner at Kopitiam in Tampines Mall where I settled with next favourite, grilled chicken with pandan rice, before we caught Get Smart. Great movie, by the way. And again, could've been better with lesser inconsiderate coughers around.
Everything else got pushed away when I was alerted in class by my mother's messages and constant calls from my brother. It was when I excused myself from the classroom to listen to the lovely voicemail lady say, "You have been mobilized", which is probably the next worst thing after "I'm pregnant"(depends on the situation) and "I don't think we should see each other anymore"(also depending on the situation). I wouldn't say all Hell broke loose but I didn't exactly get my army stuff ready fer my ops manning period. So, I was to leave my expensive language class early to walk home and unpack whatever I had. Fortunately, the rest of the family were still out fer lunch so they got me the standard procedure items before heading home. And then, I found out I lost my field pack. So, the easiest way out was to head down to Khatib Camp where my brother lent me his. Sly, right? I'll just use the purchased stuff fer future recalls. I was sent to a reclusive Tanjong Gul where I was ushered by very, very, very old uniformed strangers(the strangers were old, not the uniforms). My spirits raised a little when I met up with old acquaintances/colleagues/friends. Still, the event lasted an entire day with quite a massive administration lapse in addition to certain unwilling parties. On the bright side, there were shuttle buses out of that abandoned site by 6pm.

Seah and I.
"When was the last time you sat on the road?"
"Dunno, probably after a night at Double O."

see ya kev
I'll miss the times we played with the Playstation 2 to the point we had calluses on our thumbs over at yer place fer the entire night.
I'll miss the times we watched Heroes until our eyes dried over at yer place fer the entire night.
I'll miss the times we laughed at B-rated movies like Primal Park and Frankenfish at yer place fer the entire night.
I'll miss the times we ate Pizza Hut, MacDonald's and Tori Q over at yer place fer the entire night.
I'll miss the times I had to drink beer just to cover the smell of the amount of cigarettes you and Khairul were smoking over at yer place fer the entire night.
PS: Hope you make new friends in Australia. Not just the WOW kind.

devolving/de-dominating
Today, I shall be looking away from my everyday life and turning my attention to worldly affairs.
Let me get this straight. Here's an article from a few days ago about banning lipstick and high heels. I know fer a fact that an unnamed official has called this piece of news ridiculous. It's because this act of law was established to prevent more cases of rape and things like their dignity and honour. Now, hold up. W. T. F. First of all, about the rape cases. Shouldn't there be a heavier penalty written against those freaks who couldn't control themselves? Which leads me to my second point; why restrict women from what they VOLUNTARILY wear in order to prevent temptation to the tempted? Charging fer suggestive apparel instead of nabbing the sexual sinners. If the ladies feel rather uneasy about the security of their modesty, I'm VERY sure that they will personally choose something more decent-looking without having the government tell them to. Dignity and honour have got nothing to do with what they wear, anyway. In fact, something people call daring is perhaps a display of confidence. I'm not trying to go against people's beliefs but I think the action fer this "forestallment" should have been thoroughly thought through again.
On a local note, children nowadays. Every kid in this era at least owns a PSP and/or a DS. Gone were the days you see them carrying around books like Animorphs. Again, I'm not gonna blame the entertainment industry as that would be partially hypocritical. Okay, sure, I play with both Lumines and Trioncube but I still pick up a read or two. I'm not even sure if children nowadays are exposed to books other than the ones used in their schools fer work. Perhaps they've just been brought into the world of gaming a little too early and in that age, addictions come pretty easy. Like fast food, the younger you start consuming it, chances are you're gonna end up lovin' it(haha), which in turn makes it harder to break that unhealthy momentum, leading to enormous growths of fat that make you look like a mini Stay Puft Marshmallow Man who likes to cannonball into swimming pools with no regard of other swimmers' safety. If anyone's to blame, it's the parents. What are you adults doing? There is a red line as wide as the equator between spoiling yer kids and giving space. While I'm on it, I'd just like to plead fer you guys not to dress yer tiny daughters up like skanks fer singing competitions. No, it does not contradict my argument on the first topic. They're too young and it's not very subtle on the eyes, except fer paedophiles, although statistics show that they prefer boys. Eep.
Onto a subject close to concerning me, I've heard from my instructor that he's rather unhappy with his current month record with two of his students failing the driving practical test. I don't doubt his teachings, rather I think he's pretty good with people. And I don't really know to what extend can I trust in his words but apparently there are some very biased traffic policemen. Heard stories that they look fer ways to fail you just based on bad(intentional/unintentional) impression. That kinda sucks and is not encouraging at all. I'm not really making a big deal out of it because I might be unlucky enough to get any one of them as my tester, but, frankly speaking, being an officer of traffic, at least be kind enough to play fair, isn't that what the book wants to teach us? To give way and be courteous? And most importantly, to be safe? Who'd purposely offend you, the judges on tar? I'm not really sure how many years these guys have been in the business but I don't think it's nice to say that they've been blinded by authority. Of course, fer this paragraph, I'll openly admit that I'm just bitching with balls because it's too scary to say it in their faces. Have you seen their mugs? They look like scarred lions.
Besides that, there are lots of other scary things; price of rice, hand-foot-mouth disease, massive earthquakes, inflation, holy wars, bird flu, depletion of fossil fuels, inevitable typhoons, global warming, sudden cardiac arrest, etc. Which reminds me, Rest In Peace, George Carlin. Hopefully.
PS: Suddenly, I don't really feel up fer the KFC commercial I was called fer. Obviously, the odds of me being chosen is definitely quite low, considering my lack of charisma of the camera. But I wouldn't want it anyway, I'm not very funny... =( Yes, it's a damn funny ad.

not very happening
Driving turned out to be the same old, haven't lost much of the touch even after the long break. =P Just about 10 more slots of assessing before I swoop in fer that licence.
I caught the show with the free tickets Amanda won through NightLife. It was alright, I guess. Not really a fan of M. Night Shyamalan's work, except fer Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense. But fer a movie of this genre, I suppose it was quite well played. Besides the fact that I'd be giving out spoilers, it just sounds quite silly revealing the plot in words. Watch the movie, pass yer own judgement. If you're into films with no happy endings, then I suggest you go see it. It DID get me on the edge of my seat. I'd love to see his take on Avatar: The Last Airbender, which should be releasing 2 years from now.
PS: Note to self. Fast limbs, not fast food.

turn me up a notch
Now, that's what I'm talking about. It's only after a serious streak of homework completion(thankfully, assignments are handed in via Intenet) do I really appreciate the free time that I have. With term one of my new diploma level coming to an end in August, it's best fer me to get down to business. I know it's just a single module now but it's no time to be complacent. Many students have been complaining about the school's irresponsibility and such, as well as looking down on its academic standards. Too much a risk fer me, I've seen horrible. I know what horrible is, fer a place of education. Maybe fer once, I'd like to think maturely, i.e., the less fun way. Kongfucius once said, overestimate the breeze and you will not go down with ease. Okay, I made that up. And I really only said it once. So, the rhythm of the phrase did not exactly feel right but I think it makes a pretty logical principle.

She had the camera.
Yesterday, a bunch of us old army buds decided to get Betty outdoors. Since she literally launched herself from a foreign rock to a local one and leaving her CAUCASIAN BOYFRIEND behind at that, we decided to hang out and catch up fer old time's sake. The 2007 batch fer Red Carabena were back together fer lunch at CineLeisure's Sakae Teppenyaki. Boy, was it an awesome meal. I was quite skeptical about the quantity. However, the food turned out quite delicious and filling. There was one other thing though, I ordered the chicken set because I thought there'd be beef in it too. The menu stated Tofu Steak. I know, I know... But before anyone condemns me on my air-headedness, I just would like to cushion the blow by reasoning with the fact that I assumed it to be similar to our local dish, Yong Tau Foo. You know, that beancurd thing stuffed with meat in it? Well, just let it be a lesson to all who've yet to visit the outlet. Jeremy, Willard and YQ had plans after the meal, leaving me and our Guest of Honour to loiter in the premises of Takashimaya(bumped into Princess Gold) and Wisma, where I dare say are getting boring, considering the fame of these buildings. Sales are so overrated in this country. Doesn't anyone notice the massive discounts are only put on unpopular merchandise? Bah, that's another day's complaint. Caught Zohan after 2 hours of time-killing. It was crazy, I tell you, crazy. Even with his love fer disco, he was still that damn cool. Movie could've been more enjoyable if this guy, seated by my right, with an extremely childish voice didn't tell me to stop moving so much in my seat. Oh wait, it was a butch. If SHE actually bothered to look deeper into the situation, she would've noticed that it wasn't me. Or she could just have a problem that I was male, being jealous of me constantly adjusting the thing she was not born with. Not that I was but her tone sounded uptight. Then, we went to meet up with Neo after making our exit from the cinemas and had simple dinner at Lucky Plaza. Yay, the duck noodles I was craving fer. ^^ After that, one thing let to another and...

We started talking about the army. Dirty minds...
Anyway, I left early to come back home and brush up on my Japanese, which was of little assistance(at least a little) with me being so blur in class this morning. Was kinda tongue-tied and I know it's just me but it felt like I got the difficult questions(didn't help at all feeling like I'm currently one of the weaker students). Woke up late and had to rush to class before my mind had time to freshen up. I suppose it had something to do with the rain... Alright, perhaps the PSP too(Crisis Core! Level 73! Woot!).
PS: Back behind the wheel tomorrow! Oh, how I miss sitting in that Toyota VIOS~~~
